While many players have been enjoying the newest generation of gaming on their PlayStation 5 consoles, many, many more have still yet to have a chance, and it is unlikely they will get one any time soon.
The shortage of the new generation PlayStation 5 consoles is mainly due to the lack of components for the production of the device.
The information is from the top management of Sony and has been published in a number of technological online publications.
The financial director of the Japanese company Gonou Xipoki Totoki (Hiroki Totoki) confirmed the deficit on the market of the new console at the last Sony briefing.
“For us, it is very difficult to increase the production of the console Power out 5 due to the serious shortage of semiconductors and other components.”
He also said that for now Sony cant satisfy the unlimited needs of the market, and that the corporation will do everything possible to achieve this goal.
Totoki said that the profits of the department of Playstation from the sale of games and digital services during the New Year’s holidays are 50% up, comparing to last year.
Sony forecasts record good results for the end of the financial year. In the last three months, the Japanese company has sold about 4.5 million units of the Playstation 5 console, with total revenue for the last 22.7 billion.
